After Joining BJP, Jyotiraditya Scindia Says Congress Govt Corrupt, Didn’t Fulfill Promises

Minutes after joining the BJP, Congress leader Jyotiraditya Scindia has launched a scathing attack on his former party.

“I have always maintained that my aim is to work for the people, and politics is only a medium towards that aim,” Scindia said during his formal induction into the BJP. “But the Congress of today is not the Congress of before. The Congress refuses to accept the ground realities, and it isn’t respecting new leadership,” he said.

Scindia said that the Congress government in MP, which had been formed in late 2018, has failed on most counts.”In MP, we’d made a lot of promises to the people. But in the last 18 months, those dreams have been shattered. The farmers in MP are unhappy. We’d promised to waive farmer loans within 10 days of coming to power, but we still haven’t managed to do it for 18 months,” he said,

Scindia said that all sections of the MP population were unsatisfied with the Congress government. “Farmers haven’t been given their crop bonuses. In the Mansaur case, the cases filed against the farmers haven’t been taken back. Young people in Madhya Pradesh are unhappy too. There are no jobs. The Congress government had promised a monthly allowance for unemployed youth, but it hasn’t been able to deliver,” he added.

Scindia didn’t only say that that the Congress govt in MP had been ineffective — he also leveled the more serious charge of corruption. “Today there’s lots of corruption in the government. There’s a transfer mafia in place, and raids are rampant,” he alleged.

“I wanted to walk the path of truth, and I wanted to serve Bharat Mata. I’m fortunate that the BJP has given me a platform to serve the people,” he said.
