Saumya Varma, Alleged Creator Of Congress Toolkit, Deletes Her Twitter And LinkedIn Accounts After Her Name Emerges

admin

The Congress appears to be trying to cover its tracks after the BJP has made pointed allegations around the creator of the sensational toolkit which had gone viral on social media yesterday.

Saumya Varma, who the BJP has now alleged was the author of the toolkit, has deactivated her social media accounts. Both her Twitter and LinkedIn accounts are now deleted. Earlier today, BJP’s Sambit Patra had claimed that looking at the properties of the document in their possession showed the name of the author as one “Saumya Varma”.

Sambit Patra had shared a screenshot from the properties section of the document, which showed that its author was “saumya varma”.

On her LinkedIn profile, Saumya Varma had said that she worked at the office of Rajeev Gowda, who’s the head of AICC Research Cell. The toolkit released yesterday had said that it was the creation of the AICC Research Team.

Patra had also shared pictures of Saumya Varma with Congress dignitaries, including Rahul Gandhi.

But hours after her involvement was revealed, Saumya Varma appears to have tried to cover her tracks. Her Twitter account, varma_saumya, which had several tweets attacking the Modi government, has now been deleted.

Her LinkedIn account, which detailed her background, including her time spent at JNU, and her work with Rajeev Gowda, AICC Research Head, is also deleted.

Yesterday, a sensational toolkit created by the Congress had surfaced online. Among other things, it directed Congress workers to block beds in hospitals, and only release them when someone tagged the Indian Youth Congress handle for help. It also urged people to use the term “Indian strain” and “Modi strain.” The Congress had yesterday denied any association with the toolkit, and had filed FIRs against BJP leaders. But with the BJP now hitting back with the name of the person who created the toolkit, and that person proceeding to immediately delete their social media accounts, the toolkit controversy has exploded once again.
