The left likes to pretend that it’s a tiny minority that’s poor and uneducated which supports extremism, but extremist views can extend to some of the most successful people from a certain community.
Indian cricketer Khaleel Ahmed has liked a post on Instagram in which French President Emmanuel Macron is seen with a shoe on his face. The image was posted by MMA fighter Khabib Nurmagomedov, and had captions in Russian and Urdu. The translation of the Urdu caption was as follows:
May God curse the face of this amputee and all of their followers who hurt the feeling of more than half a billion Muslims under the guise of freedom
God humiliated them in this world and the hereafter, God is quick to reckon
We Muslims love our Messenger and Prophet Muhammad, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, more than our mothers, fathers, sons, and husbands, and from all of God’s creation, glory be to Him.
Believe me, these provocations will come out of their necks and the consequence for the righteous.
As discovered by Twitter user Celestial Saffron, this post had been liked by cricketer Khaleel Ahmed from his official account.
Emmanuel Macron has been attacked by Islamists after a spate of terror attacks in France, in which Islamic men have repeatedly stabbed and decapitated ordinary citizens. The attacks followed a refusal by Macron to stand down against Islamic terrorism, and show support for beheaded teacher Samuel Paty, who’d shown his class the Charlie Hebdo cartoons.
Khaleel Ahmed’s Instagram like, though, would suggest that he feels that Macron deserves to be hit with shoes for standing up against terror. The caption of the post carried a sinister veiled threat: Believe me, these provocations will come out of their necks and the consequence for the righteous. After Khaleel Ahmed’s ‘like; started getting attention on social media, he quietly unliked the post.
Khaleel Ahmed made his ODI debut for India in the Asia Cup. He made his T20 debut for India in 2019 against Bangladesh. In 2018, he was bought for Rs. 3 crore by the Hyderabad Sunrisers in the IPL auction.
