The Modi Derangement Syndrome had first caused leftists to hate India. Now they’ve begun hating God himself.
Far-left extremists have begun calling Sachin Tendulkar “Dog of Ambani”, and causing the phrase to trend on social media. Yesterday, Sachin Tendulkar had tweeted for unity after international celebrities including Rihanna and pornstar Mia Khalifa had tweeted in support of the violent farmer agitations. “India’s sovereignty cannot be compromised. External forces can be spectators but not participants. Indians know India and should decide for India. Let’s remain united as a nation,” Tendulkar had tweeted. The tweet had gone massively viral, garnering over 100k retweets, and had immediately taken the wind out of the sails of the international campaign to defame India.
That didn’t please the far-left fringe, which had been gloating at the negative publicity India had been receiving. Several tweets today began calling Sachin Tendulkar the “Dog of Ambani”.
Some users shared cartoons calling him Ambani’s dog.
The same sentiment was repeated with pictures shared of Sachin with the Ambani family.
Some jibes took a racist turn, highlighting Sachin’s caste while calling him a dog.
Other users hinted that Sachin Tendulkar was a member of the RSS.
More than anything else, this shows how far the far-left has moved outside the mainstream in India. For a generation of Indians, Sachin Tendulkar is no less than god, having carried the Indian cricket team on his shoulders for two decades, and establishing a cricketing record that was the best in the world. In many ways, Sachin’s rise mirrored the rise of India — before Sachin’s debut in 1989, India was a socialist nation, very much a part of the much-maligned third world. As Sachin’s career shone, and he became the best batsman there was, India too liberalized and began finding its feet as a nation. In the process, Tendulkar came to symbolize what India — and Indians — were capable of.
But the simplest tweet by the man asking for Indians to manage their own affairs seem to have upset left-leaning propagandists, who’re now showering the man with the choicest of abuses. It’s almost laughable to think that Sachin, who has been India’s pride for years, needs to prove his Indian credentials to basement-dwelling socialists screaming Lal Salaam, but that’s the level of lunacy the left is currently operating at. Modi’s victories in 2014 and 2019, and his continued support since, have caused a meltdown among leftists that has left nothing sacred — not even God himself.
